Почему мой 7-месячный ребёнок отказывается от еды?
So my 7 month old won’t eat anything, my husband took him to the doctor today and I told him to ask the doctor what can be done. The doctor said the reason he’s not accepting any food is because I started at 6 months rather than 4 months.
This doesn’t make any sense to me since I started at 6 months with my first as well and I didn’t have any problems 😩.
I don’t know what to do, he refuses to eat any solids. I’m open to any advice. Please and thank you!!

Your doctor is an idiot, it’s no longer recommended to start at 4 months for a variety of reasons. How long has your LO not been wanting food and how much food was he eating prior to this? At 7 months, formula or breastmilk still should be his main source of nutrition and foods should be more play and sensory experience.
I’d just give him a bowl of purée or if you’re comfortable with baby led weaning style, safely sized foods for him to explore in his own without any pressure to eat.

Please change doctors! That is shit advice. If it makes you feel better, my son was not very interested in food until around 8 months. Before that he would just play with it and make a mess. I did baby lead weaning so I’d give just give him stuff to let him get used to new tastes and textures (bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, steamed to soften) but food isn’t even necessary until a year! You poor mama. Just give him some time, he’s still so little.

His regular pediatrician wasn’t in so another one saw him today. But it does make me feel better. My second is so different from my first that I often feel like I’m failing him but thank you. I’m going to try this!!

oh no babe you are not failing! You’re doing great. All babies are different! Just give him some stuff to play with. He’ll inevitably put it in his mouth. But food is absolutely not necessary for nutrition until a year old and the AAP actually advises against offering anything but BM/formula until 6 months old. Just let him go at his own pace and don’t listen to that doctor at all. 💜

tomorrow morning give him a whole banana, obvs peeled. Just see what he does with it. He’ll explore the texture w his hands and then taste it, maybe throw it, etc. but just make it a game.
