Maya came down with chicken poxs yesterday. She was fine until around a few hours ago where she woke up crying because of an itchy spot on her back. I ran her a bath and put some oats in a pillowcase. However i have her in some kinda isolation because of Ada but am I being overly cautious? Online says call 111 if you think your newborn has chicken pox. Sounds serious to me. But yeah she's been in and out of my room all day and night and its killing me not being with her properly. I just want to comfort her properly and its upsetting me but im worried about Ada. I'm breastfeeding so she will have got some antibodies from me 😓 but yeah anyone else been in this situation?
No but maybe just ring 111 for some advice if anything ? I mean chickenpox is more contagious from 2-3 days before the actual spots appear, it's the cold/flu symptoms first then the spots. Its apparently unlikely for newborns to catch the virus due to still having protection antibodies for upto 3 months from you obviously it depends if you've had them before! Just make sure you sanitise your hands before you touch baby or near your little girl. But I'm no professional 🤦🏻♀️😆 that's just my own knowledge of it to be honest.
