A friend of mine has a clogged duct and can’t get it out. She’s tried hand expressing, pumping, hot showers, warm compresses, her husband even tried getting it out. She exclusively pumps so she’s tried that and it didn’t help either. Any tips that she’s not thought of? She’s miserable!

@humblewarriormama, I told her to try one of the little hand held back massagers that vibrates and hopefully it’ll have the same effect!

My friend uses a vibrator designed for breastfeeding/pumping and it helps break up clogs. I’ve heard you can use an electric toothbrush as well.

Take an anti-inflammatory like Advil or Motrin then pump after a hot shower while massaging. Her duct might be swollen from the irritation and may need that to be relieved first.
