At what age is best to get your child in with a dentist?
Because of lockdown ive never bothered and we dont or not heard from HV since she was a baby!!
Mine haven't been neither nor are they registered yet! Its a nightmare here, but my eldest was 14m before his first popped out then my youngest 18months so they was both pretty late and then lockdown but its on my 2 do list 100% xx
I think here they like you to register the child with a dentist when they are around 1. Mine both have checks every 6months xx
😫 oh noo!! Ive never even thought about it because lockdown was so awful then i realised shes never been x
@ms_lizzy don't worry about it! My eldest didn't have a dentist until she was like 5 when my youngest started going when was 1 (in 2019) 😬 that's because I was going through a tough time with losing my Dad from when she was born until she was 2 and it didn't even cross my mind. And after that I forgot until the health visitor said to me about registering my youngest and then I thought oh shit my eldest has never been! 😂🤦🏽♀️ Now they go every 6 months since 2020/21 xx
My two have always just jumped in on my appointments. They are on the dentists books (they have been since they were around 9 months, both got their first teeth at 16-18 weeks), but instead of giving them an entire 20 minute spot she just checks them over at the end of mine.
Theo was seen on his own once at 15 month, he fell and hit his front two teeth on a railing, he chipped one and there was nothing they could do for the chip but she wanted to check he hadn't damaged the nerves x
Sophia went at 6 months but she had 2 teeth my debris to said soon as they start getting teeth and it’s good to get them into habit of going every 6 months xxxx
