I'm going to be 40 this year and I want to try an use our last embryo but I feel old an I didnt want to be pregnant after 40. My gyno an nurse told me why not? That they had a lot of patients over 40 an pregnant. The way I think is would I be around till they become adults?
@jenx yes so true. But then also I see my girls playing and I can't imagine life without out them. Makes me think what if their the one frozen. It's just so hard. Last year surprised pregnancy didn't help. Have bad baby fever. Just wish i was a little younger.😥
Also very true. Only if i knew if I live pass 80. A lot to think and very little time. But also have to make appointment with gyno and my PCP to make sure I'm healthy enough for 1 more pregnancy. And thank you. Glad I'm not alone.
you're not alone at all! My husband will probably be kicking around and spry until he's 100. My side of the family isn't as healthy. If the embryo was 100% healthy it would be a real conundrum. You're also 2.5 years younger than me and that makes a big difference! I am almost closer to 43 than 42.
im still ok health wise. My family come with a lot of health problems especially diabetes. I have PCOS so i have to be even more careful not to develop diabetes. My husband was just diagnosed with diabetes in may. So we really need to talk about and make a decision soon. We where put on the spot in November by his coworkers when we went out for dinner and it sounded like my husband may not be on board for another. He thinks like me and don't want to be 40 an having a baby.( he's to 2 years younger then me thou)I am a little younger then you but I did say I wouldn't have kids pass 40 an will be 40 in May. But at the end I think my doctors will make that decision if my husband on board.
I mean.... Hmm. I don't even know lol. Personally....at 40, I would not. Having one at my age was exhausting and after 35 you are consider a geriatric patient and the risk of issues with you and baby increase. However if YOU are healthy have the energy and patience and want a football team of kids then go for it, lol.
My obgyn told me that she has had plenty of patients that are 35-41. Some were even having their first at 41. If it works for you and your family it’s not crazy.
Me personally I couldn’t 😩 I’m only 25 and barely have energy, imagine at 41.
My aunt had her last baby when she was like 39 years old ( she’ll be 46 in august) and on the day of my brother’s funeral, we were talking and she said she had wish that she would’ve had her sooner because now sometimes she doesn’t have the energy to do everything her daughter wants to do or chase her around( she’s almost 7 now) plus my aunt has health issues
But if you think you can do it, go head mama 💖 it’s your choice. Good luck!
