What would you tip? 💵
We are getting an $1100 sectional + $50 delivery fee dropped off and put together tomorrow.
I’m prone to highly over tipping, but I’m trying to be more realistic..

Is the set up included in the fee? If not at least 20% if it is I would do something closer to 10% just as a thank you.
I just never had a couch delivered and set up before 😄 I didn’t know if I should tip percentage off of total couch or off of delivery fee.

it’s going to be a quick thing for them most likely. The w&d guys had it in and set up gave me basic instructions in 30mins. How when we had our outdoor shed done they were here for hours delivering, painting, and assembling. I paid for their lunch and dinner plus left a cooler on the patio full of water and snacks. They told me we were wonderful customers so I guess I did something right.
I would say 15-20%. Some people I tip more depending on the situation and their customer service. If I feel they went above and beyond or we have a connection or something we talked about has left a mark I always tip more.
10-20% of what? The delivery fee or the total couch?? I was gonna do $50 delivery fee + $20 tip but I didn’t want that to be too little. ☺️
I would have done the couch total, I do get how you came up with your amount though. I’m extra too so i’m interested to see what others will say. I probably would have done $100 per person.
I usually give $20-50/person depending on how efficient and careful they are about set up.
We just did $20/person this past weekend. I would’ve done more but they tracked so much snow all over my house. I know it comes with the territory getting a delivery in the winter but they were stomping snow off IN my house (while holding furniture) rather than outside or in the entryway. Please don’t stomp snow on the only carpeted part of the house that you’re walking through.
I said something to them. Told them they would’ve gotten double if they hadn’t stomped piles of snow everywhere. Freakin’ 20 year olds lol

Oh I didn’t even think of tipping furniture delivery people! We just got 2 new couches delivered and spent more than that. Oops. We tipped our unloaders though when we moved in.
When we got our new furniture, I think we gave them $20 each ( it was 3 of them )
