My husband had a positive Covid test on 1-1-22. Today my 9 year old woke up with a fever, sore throat, cough, and headache. I’m trying to hold it together but this is hard especially me being pregnant. Tomorrow my whole household is getting pcr tested. Monday my rapid was negative. I also have two other children. I am not sure what to do with my household. My husband is isolated to our room although he’s feeling a lot better today. Our sons share a room though although they basically just sleep in there. I am running around all day like a chicken with my head cut off trying to take care of everyone and everything, all while working full time at home 😫. I get it most of us will have it sometime or another but Geezus 😣😭. What should I give her for his symptoms?
Tomorrows test can take up to 36hours to get the results I just know they’re better than rapids/at homes at detecting the virus and can even before symptoms. But that would be a possibility. For me to go into isolation if anyone else turns up positive even if I am not myself
I hope everyone recovers fast. Im sorry that sounds so stressful. Sending hugs 💜
This is an absolute nightmare scenario and I am so sorry. You're right, if covid is endemic, we will all catch a case eventually.
That said, how high is the fever? Tylenol and motrin alternating work wonders and should help with the headache. Do you have an n95 to wear?
His fever is 100.5 I am also monitoring his ox and pulse rates which those are fine. I do not have any n95 mask I will see if there’s any I can order. This is a nightmare I mean we hardly go anywhere and have been super cautious. But things happen
@prettygirlrock1214surromom I wouldn't drive yourself crazy over it. To be honest, it's so contagious your vaccine and immune system have probably done their work already. I assume you slept next to your husband when he wasn't showing symptoms yet but was contagious. I have everything crossed that you're good. Don't expend unnecessary energy right now, you have enough going on. <3 Things absolutely do happen, we're all as careful as we can be but nothing is 100%.
My MIL took care of my BIL and SIL who had it for a week in her house. She's vaccinated, boostered, and 70. She didn't catch a breakthrough case, so I am very optimistic for you. But if anyone tests positive tomorrow, can YOU go into isolation and your husband come take care of the kids.
