They(the school)sent Zay home with two rapid tests to be taken today and again on 1/2. This one was negative, thank goodness. Happy to be in a district that’s testing kids like this.

We have TONS of at home kits for families, but no one around here wants to test their kids & deal with what comes with a positive result. It’s sad.

@fairykarmamomma, I would rather know too and take precautions to keep others safe. People around here just don’t care about covid. I’m glad his respite worker was erring on the side of caution. It’s better that way!

@jenx, It’s awful. We have a huge box of at home tests that are going to expire — luckily they’re still good for about 6 months after the expiration date — so our school nurse is giving them out to staff. I have a small stash here if we need it, but ideally we shouldn’t even have a surplus because people should be using them when we offer them. 😞 We also have rapid tests available from our school nurse. I’m thankful for easy access to testing. I wish our community would use what we have available rather than say it’s a cold or allergies or whatever.

Ugh how ridiculous I'd be so that thankful! Like calm down if we have to quarantine for a few day's cool at least we know.

"just a cold" is the new "allergies" for irresponsible people. They haven't figured out you can't BS a virus.

Our school will not let you back if you even have any symptoms of anything without doing a quarantine of 15 day's or a negative covid test. We've taken so much precaution just going back that my son wears a mask hour's after school. I'm just glad the whole staff including aids have been vaccinated and mask the whole time.
