I literally lay here awake hungry and stressed so bad. Bills paid but leave me with no food in the house and one can of formula for baby and a few diapers left. Anyone know of anywhere that helps fast?
@meggcragle, yes, WIC isn’t supposed to get you through the whole month, it’s just supplemental. Do you receive food stamps or cash assistance? Can you exchange any Christmas gifts for store credit somewhere and get diapers/formula with that?
@meggcragle, wic should get you through almost the whole month they base it off how much your baby at how many months old should be eating in oz. Also they or the doctor will absolutely not write you a prescription if it’s not medically necessary. I’ve had to do the prescription for one of my kids before due to food allergies. I would try maybe talking to the doctor office usually they get a bunch of formula samples in, also you can call wic and they should be able to tell you what direction to take you to get help immediately!
Ike above post said and try local churches the ones in our area have been holding food drives once a week for a while now. But wic is a life saver I would definitely call them
WIC, your county social services will usually grant emergency funds as well. Apply for foodstamps, you can use them on formula too. Your pedi can also write you a prescription for formula so it’ll go through insurance instead of paying out of pocket. Apply for an emergency credit card. Donate plasma.
