My 3.5 year old sometimes still wets the bed at night , it’s become less frequent but some nights it still happens and the pull-ups are getting a bit snug, any recommendations for something bigger? Also suggestions on how to stop wetting the bed at night ? Lol

Stop liquids 2 hours before bed time (make sure they’re getting plenty through out the day) put him in real undies. They make training underwear with extra padding but he needs to feel the wetness and realize he doesn’t like it. Put plastic down on his mattress for any accidents. Pull ups work the same as a diaper so kids don’t actually feel wet. Make sure he goes pee before bed. Do a sticker chart or another reward system, kids love that shit.

yes ! He goes to preschool and only underwear during the day, we only put on pull ups for bed time !

ya the best thing I did was just stop buying them. Like I said yes there were accidents but very very few and he caught on quickly. You can layer his bed with a few of the plastic sheets and just keep a clean fitted sheet in his room for quick change for overnight accidents.

Stopping bed wetting at night is developmental, so he may not be quite there but it sounds like he’s close! Don’t fret!

This. My oldest bed wet until she was 5 but was potty trained at 2.5
She just randomly stopped one day 🤷♀️

Like pp said, the bed wetting is developmental and like with all milestones, some children get there faster than others. What I did was take my son out of pullups completely at nights, and I'd take him to the bathroom around midnight to pee and then put him back to bed. The first several times, he would pee before I got a chance to take him, so I would take note and adjust the time I was taking him at night, and then even after I brought him to the bathroom he'd still pee before the sun came up. Over time, he started staying dryer longer at night, I haven't let him sleep all night as yet. Being wet doesn't phase him, he doesn't care. For complete day time dryness, I just took away his stuff. He didn't care if he got candy or treats for staying dry, but he cared when I didn't let him use the tablet or watch tv. I am not exactly recommending that because it's essentially punishment, but I really felt as though he was doing it on purpose. At one point he'd just pee on the floor and start jumping in it likes it's a puddle 😩 the tablet restriction worked for me. Right now it doesn't matter to me if he's wetting the bed at night, I know it could take a long time to get it. I also have 2 mattress protector on and I put an absorbent pad that covers his mattress on top of his fitted sheet, so if he pees at night, I just take the pad off, put another one on and he can go back to a dry bed.

@briannalynn547 aww, poor little one, I hope the night terrors get better. When I take him at night, I just pick him up and take him, sometimes he sleeps through it, lol. I wonder if I'm doing him any favors this way, I get worried his body might start peeing on schedule while he's sleeping, lol. Next week I'm going to stop taking him at nights and see how he does, if he'll stay dry all night or wake up and go to the bathroom on his own, or pees in his bed

my son doesn’t pee while he’s sleeping , only when he wakes up and do to the night terrors he does wake up most nights atleast one time. So I rush to the room then rush to get him to the bathroom. This is why I feel like it’s just laziness cause he’ll just lay there and then pee himself if he wakes up quietly
