Why did God take my mother before my birthday?

today is a rough day

Saturday, November 20,2004 i heard my dad tell his friend in the parking lot of the hospital they were going to take my mom off the machine.. 8 year old me thought that was good so i ran to my older brother so excited "momma going to come for my birthday!" little did i know that's not what that meant my brother explained. I'll never forget that feeling, the feeling like the whole world fell on top of me, the feeling of numbness and confusion. That ride home all i could do is lay my head in my lap and stare at the clock in the truck. my mind seemed blank at that point i didn't know what to think or how to think. I often asked "why would God take a mother 4 days before their child's birthday" The day after my birthday Friday November 26th i went to see my momma at her viewing it wasn't until her funeral Saturday when they played Go Rest High on That mountain when the lyrics said "cause son your work on earth is done" that it hit me that my momma was gone. all i could do is stare at her purple casket trying to hold it together cause i've always hated crying in front of people.
