Mini pill vs Nuvaring: mental health?
OB starting me on mini pill instead of nuvaring. Hoping the lower hormones will be better for my mental health. Any personal testimonials appreciated!

My mental health tanked HARD with the nuvaring and my entire personality changed and I've literally become psychotic and the anxiety gets so bad I cant breathe my chest hurts. I've never done well with birth control so I'm really hoping something lower hormone helps but I've heard women get pregnant on the mini pill 😕

I always took the mini pill after I had each of my kids and I was breastfeeding. I had no complaints. I hope it helps you to feel better.

@countrypeaches42013 yes I did. But I don't take anything now. Birth control always made me feel awful so as soon as we decided we were done having babies, my husband immediately got a vasectomy

my husband has a consult December 2 but they are booked out past June for the actual procedure even though I told him to call while I was pregnant but here we are 🤦♀️ birth control has always messed me up bad

@countrypeaches42013 wow June! That's awful. Make sure he keeps his appointment! June seems so far away now, but it'll eventually come!

I took it after the births of both of mine. No issues, but I’ve always been on a birth control pill and never had any issues. They tell you to call when you stop breastfeeding so they can put you on a higher dose pill. My experience, anyway. Good luck!

Mini pill made me mean. Just in a rage kind of. That's why I got my tubal...I'm very small though (110 pounds) so hormones affect me a lot more than a normal sized person.

See I'm a very large person and the nuvaring made me like that and I cant stand it. Like I'm mad at myself for being so mad but I cant control the rage I feel 😕 I'm hoping because the mini pill is lower hormone it will help. I cannot wait for hubbs to get snipped so I can just let my body be my body again. But if I just go no bc and get pregnant I'm afraid my husband will heavily resent me for not going on bc duing the period of waiting for his appt

@countrypeaches42013 I'm sure it'll be fine for you! I would feel awful for the anger I felt inside. It just wasn't like me. I've heard many successful stories with the mini pill & pregnancy prevention. If you do end up pregnant though it was meant to be❤️
