My son woke up with this yesterday, wasn’t as bad as these pics but I took him to urgent care they said he was allergic to the antibiotics but this morning worse. It wasn’t as far up on his neck and chest and wasn’t on his face . Idk what to do doctor just said to wait it out 😭🥺

Did they give him a different antibiotic? Unfortunately, it has to run its course to get out of his system. Our daughter was allergic to an antibiotic and it caused plaques like this and bruising and swelling in her ankles. It took several days to work out of her system. The doctor gave her a brief course of prednisone to get her through it because she didn't want to walk because it was painful.

I think you're doing everything right while it works out of his system. It's just uncomfortable. Hopefully the hives start to go down soon and he turns the corner. It's hard as a mom to see those angry looking hives and not be able to actively fix it. I believe it took 3 days for it to clear out of our daughter's system, the hives left little bruise looking marks for about a week and then went away completely.

Can he take Benadryl while he takes the antibiotics?

I was going to suggest the same thing. Small dose of Benadryl will help with the hives. We did this with the boys when they were younger always worked.

they told me they don’t like telling parents to give kids this young Benedryl because of the drowsiness effect 😬

Same exact thing happened to my kiddo a while back. I STILL don't think it was the antibiotics either! It was medicine need had many times before AND he'd finished the prescription DAYS before he first broke out.
They have us some hydrocortisone and prednisone liquid medicine and the next mornin it look worse so I took him back. They told us the same thing, keep givin him the meds and it'll clear out of his system with the next 48-72 hours. By day 2 he was SO much better!

YES !!! He was on it for 8 days and has had amoxicillin a million times before . I dont think it was either but he literally hasn’t tried anything new !

I NEVER figured out what caused his girl! No new soaps, food, play places... NOTHING! I REALLY don't think it was the antibiotics though!
What's weird is bout a year later, it happened to me off and on for bout a week I'd break out and get all itchy like that. I wasn't sick or on any meds at that time either! I'll try and find some pics from when it happened to me.

Yess did that last night with oatmeal bath, an oatmeal soap bar and some breast milk! Gonna repeat tonight. Also have the oatmeal lotion!
