Went through this recently. It took a lot for me to finally end my marriage, including him cheating on me multiple times within a matter of weeks. Once he was finally out of the house, I found moving on to be easier. I stopped worrying about him and started worrying about myself. A partner cheating can be a really huge blow to your self confidence and it was for me, so I wrote a love letter to myself reminding me that I matter and that I am my own person separated from my husband. I read the letter out loud to myself every morning for weeks and it really helped counter the thoughts of jealousy over the other woman and the feelings of missing him or feeling like I needed him. It also helped making an online dating profile and talking to men, and eventually going on dates
Also when I was in the most painful part of the experience, I found I would just kind of go numb emotionally and not really feel or process my emotions so something that really helped with that and forced me to feel and cry and let it out was just playing music I related to all day every day. It started with music about heart break and then music about cheaters and then music about moving on from exes (think dua lipa- don’t start now and Lizzo- good as hell) and now I’m just listening to all the fun and happy music about living and enjoying life bc that’s where I’m at. I was able to really feel those painful feelings and process them that way too
It is not easy but you just move on with time and make better choices for yourself and child(ren). There is no “quick road”. Never blame yourself. Every person experiences and adapts/copes at their own pace.
Just keep in your thoughts that you are a person that does not accept that kind of treatment and that you will flourish💪. Once you have moved on, your world will look and feel much more different.
Everyone handles ot different, 1. Don't blame yourself not ur fault he a digger. 2. Take ur time it's not going to be a tomorrow thing but it's coming. 3. Let ur self feel. All there is to feel the good the bad the ugly. 4. Don't ponder the why's there is nothing you should have done differently there nothing more u should have done he us being a DB. and that's not ur fault.
Realizing I didn’t want to normalize an unhealthy relationship for my children. I did not want my children to think of cheating as normal or acceptable. Commitment comes in many forms and infidelity is far too normalized as is. I never wanted my child to feel how heartbroken I was, or to cause that heartbreak in another human.
The only person responsible for the infidelity is the person who does the cheating. The partner getting cheated on, is not to blame. The other woman, is not to blame. One person had made a commitment and made the conscious decision to step outside of that relationship.
I’m going through this right now and wish I had the answer, it was with a close family member I feel so worn and broken I can’t see how I’m ever going to feel normal ever again at the minute but hopefully with time it will pass
My husband and I went through this years ago at the beginning every situation is different. Our family situation has been a hard situation but he went to counseling for his drinking and cheating and we went to couples counseling. It wasn't easy at first but we have put in alot of work he had alot of growing up and battling his depression and thats why we didn't get married until 2019 and we have been together 10 years. Not everyone can or wants to work through it but we wanted to try. We learned alot woth counseling and how to communicate and support each other he has depression i have ptsd. We are happy and growing each day. Now if it happened again now I wouldn't stay with him. I gave him a chance to change and grow and if he ever cheated on me again we would be done
Realizing your worth and kicking him to the curb, for good. May be a struggle to move on but its worth it. Went thru with with my oldest sperm donor. I was just like fck this...i deserve better. I rather struggle on my own with my sanity, worth and morals than stay and endure B.S and mental abuse.
First you have to realize that you deserve better, then you start requiring better from him. Put the ball in his his court, either he does better, (with actions, not just words) or you leave. And he has to keep doing better for all the time you're together. You teach people how to treat you, if you put with everything, you'll get anything.
