It was time for me to have a bunch of labs done again, and boy am I glad I did because it revealed a bit of what covid can do to your body post infection.

I take monthly b12 injections which help

A LOT. My labs show that my b12 is extra low despite the injections. Instead of monthly, I’ve been given twice monthly for three months and then retest.

I have thyroiditis again. Low TSH with everything else in the low normal range. My thyroid is abnormally swollen and I’m exhausted even after 30 minutes of cleaning house. I will have to do another round of prednisone with blood work again in three months.

My chloride levels are extremely high. My PCP will be looking at my kidney function to see how that is, but I can’t see him for a few weeks with having to go to Texas at anytime. I’m getting 3-5 days notice.

The good news…I’m a diabetic with an A1c of 4.6 and average glucose of 85. That I definitely have under control and I’m proud because that’s not easy to do!

Yes, I have a major comorbidity that makes me susceptible to covid whether I’m vaccinated or not, but I can’t even imagine the damage it could’ve done if I hadn’t been vaccinated.
