“I was alive when it happened, yes. I was in 6th or 7th grade.”
“Woah. You’re so old. That happen 20 years ago!!”
So apparently they discussed 9/11 today.

Wow! I was in my freshman year at college when that happened. It was my first week of school and I didn’t even know until I got to my first class and everyone was talking about it.
