No, that's how it's spelt in that country, I think America might be the only country that doesn't spell it that way, but I'm not sure. America's English, in terms of spelling mostly, is vastly different from the rest of the English-speaking world.

that's understandable, I imagine a large number of Americans may have never seen that, and many other words, spelled differently. Especially those of us who don't travel, don't meet a lot of people from different English-speaking countries, etc. If you Google it, you'll see that's how they talk about building levels in many countries, and here's the kicker, "storey" is never used when telling a "story" 😆 basically America's English is quite unique
