Yup they can especially if causing an infection. I would contact your actual doctor and get some antibiotics

I’m going to try and go in tomorrow. She said she’d call some in but I couldn’t get them tonight anyways so I’d rather someone look at it first. I’d been sore all day but the red streaky vein is very new.
