I have never owned a Ford but you could try googling Ford Escape and the model year + reviews and see what comes up. Sometimes certain years have specific issues.
that’s relatively new I think it would be a good car. I never had an issue with my Ford I only got rid of it because it was too small for me. The good thing with Ford too is it’s North American made so the parts are cheaper and easily accessible for maintenance and repairs.

It’s a 2017 escape. It’s got like 50000 miles on it, drives really smooth

I have a Ford Explorer Sport and no complaints. I’ve heard escapes are also good
