I went to the salon it was great except i wanted my real hair in dread locks !!! Anyone know where i can make ot happen for real ?this is fake hair

@verguinia, I would think nyc would be similar to Toronto and more diverse and dreadlocks would not be something to prevent you from getting a job, maybe in the middle of nowhere in the country but this is 2021. Also I agree Justin Bieber’s dreads looked terrible IMO but that was the style he was going for.. if he wanted neatly formed dreads it would have been a lot easier then the unkept look he went for. Once your dreads are locked there is no more messy look to them, the instant dreads lock instantly lol.. it’s just your new growth to manage which for your hair type could easily be done with gel in between retwists.
What do you mean by fake hair? Did they add it to the pieces? I would honestly not do real dreads, you have to let them grow out or shave your head to get rid of them. This looks really nice on you and a good starter point to see if you really want them to be permanent.

I am going to completely disagree with @momgroupreject, on this here. I have dreaded many peoples hair, yes mostly type 3-4 hair textures but it is still very achievable with your texture yes it would be a longer process and would need more upkeep to keep them neat due to your texture. I would definitely keep the weave in for a bit to make sure you are sure because it would be a long process and no turning back. There are many locticians that can achieve near perfect dreads in your hair texture in one day ( i cannot lol my wrists don’t have that much strength) you can look it up there should be tons of YouTube videos search “instant dreadlocks”. It would be done by back combing and then they would agitate the hair with a crochet hook to form the dreads. The neatness of your dreads has to do with how well you care for your hair, how long you wait in between retwists etc. The “messy” looking dreads are free formed which is why they look unkept.
