I think I know deep down divorce is the only solution... I just want my husband to agree to an amicable separation so we can not put each other through hell and hurt our kids even more. My husband just isn’t the same person he used to be. He used to be kind and loyal and bent over backwards to put me first. Now he is selfish and greedy and only thinks of himself.

The details behind the cheating... he started talking to a girl online who lives in Hawaii who knows his brother. I had a one month old baby when it started, well after just a month of messaging, calling, and FaceTiming, he bought her a plane ticket to meet him in Las Vegas for a business meeting to stay with him. Eventually he admitted his intention was to have sex with her. Because he was bored. And he admitted he never even considered what would happen if I found out. He also admitted he didn’t bring a condom. He says they only kissed and she ended up shutting him down. It seems like he’s being honest about that.. but it also seemed like he would never cheat on me before this happened. Even if I believe he didn’t sleep with her, the fact that he intended to is just as horrible in my book. And I mean he freaking flew her from Hawaii to Las Vegas. It’s not like they work together or something and couldn’t avoid each other. Of course now he’s so apologetic and saying it was a one time mistake and blah blah the usual. But I honestly can’t imagine a world where I ever trust him again. So why even try marriage counseling? I want to move on and fall in love with someone who doesn’t have major psych issues and who isn’t a narcissist who can’t even call his kids to say goodnight on business trips. He’s on a trip this weekend and I tried to FaceTime him 4 times so he could tell the kids goodnight and he didn’t answer until long after bedtime. That’s pretty much what prompted this post. Any other mamas at the beginning stages of thinking about divorce right now that want to talk?

I’m so sorry, girl. This is awful and I am so sorry you’re going through this. Cheating is a dealbreaker so I understand why divorce is looking like the only option. I would feel the same. I’m always here to lend a listening ear. I haven’t experienced this, so maybe you’re only looking for someone who can relate, but my inbox is open. ❤️ Big hugs to you, momma.

I’m sorry. While I know that to some cheating is a total deal breaker I understand for others it’s something they can get through. Personally I think what he did is bullshit and you deserve so much better than that, to take money from his family and spend it to fly a bitch out is trash and I wholeheartedly don’t believe the “we didn’t have sex” excuse and (I may be putting my foot in my mouth) I think you deep down don’t either. Stay strong mama when he comes home have an actual conversation with him and lay it all down on the table. I think you have a very good head on your shoulders. ❤️

It’s just nothing I could forgive. Cheating isn’t even about sex all the time. He flew her out and met her there. The deceit is what does it for me. You’ll never be able to trust him again. Even if you do go to counseling. He is not sorry it happened, he is sorry he got caught. He intended to have sex but didn’t bring a condom…. Divorce can be scary but you owe it to yourself to be happy! I’m so sorry this happened.

I have to agree with what everyone else posted. The fact that he went through all this effort to even see her, planned on having sex and didn’t use a condom is a huge no. I think any business trip he went on, I would be worried it would happen all over again. It is totally something I don’t think I could ever let go.
