I will never forget this tornado. Besides the fact I was in the town of Moore the night before this, my class was supposed to take a field trip to the OKC zoo on this day and as we were preparing to leave we got told no it was getting bad and there was a tornado warning. Within minutes it went to emergency and things got scary quick. Needless to say we didn’t make the field trip ( and the animals were fine, just lots of damage to their outside enclosures)

I also took screenshots from a video. This story was told about the baby and it was forever stuck in my head. So many people talked about the “mud baby” who miraculously had no injuries at all. Her mouth sustained several but amazingly she survived as well.

Now this town of Moore. These poor people have had their town leveled like in this 2nd picture several times since this. They had a horrible tornado several years ago that came through and took out a school and several children were killed and teachers. The tornado was too much for the buildings. Since then they have reinforced tornado shelters in school basements in that area to withstand higher wind forces and prevent the loss of so many lives. Personally I think they need to rebuild the town somewhere else because I’ve read stories of people having to rebuild their houses in the same spot up to 4 times because of tornadoes.
