I'm tired of trying to explain to people why we do not need to have weapons of war being sold to people who shouldn't have one. Bullshit like the Charleston loophole. I can pretty much tell you, as far as being mentally competent, if you want to buy an assault weapon, you are NOT competent. You are a paranoid, delusional, homicidal and possibly suicidal danger. The second amendment was never intended to protect these crazy assholes who want to wage war on innocent women and children in grocery stores and at schools. If you can't differentiate between a handgun or a rifle and an assault weapon, you're sadly lacking.
I'm also tired of hearing conservatives bitch about cancel culture, when they essentially invented it. Remember the (Dixie) Chicks when they said they were ashamed of President Bush? Immediately canceled. Like GONE. Colin Kaepernick? Canceled. Ellen Degeneres on her show when she came out as gay? Canceled. And both she and the actress who played her girlfriend had an incredibly hard time finding work afterward for many many years. I can give an extensive list. But oh, wait....that's different, isn't it?! Hypocrites.
I was thinking just the other day, that that dream MLK had sounds so amazing, and hoping still, that my child will be greeted with a world of such tolerance as he grows... *sighs* nothing's wrong with hoping. I worry about the nightmare that is the world, and hope he will learn to "navigate" it, but stay strong and true to himself, and not become hardened and bitter... smh, I can hope.
