Does anyone know anything about fencing? We had a company come out to give us an estimate on going straight across the front of our yard (roughly 300 ft) with a gate at our driveway. We chose chain link and not privacy fencing, 4ft tall and the estimate was $3K.
Should I call and get other estimates and compare?
The other 3 sides of our land already has fencing on the property line that belongs to the neighbors.

I would call and compare but also remember that the quote includes the cost of labor as well as material unless you're planning to do it yourself. It's roughly $10/ ft so that seems wicked cheap to me

And a ten year warranty! The warranty is a huge perk to me!

most fences come with a warranty so I would still shop around. Maybe look into this companies reviews, etc.

Sounds about right to me. I have just one 30-40ft section that we are going to build ourselves and materials will be $700. And that’s just materials. Remember each post has to go down a certain amount and usually concrete is used as an anchor.
Materials, labor and overhead go into the cost of a job. Seems fair. But always, always get 3 bids on projects.

So I just looked it up. Generally companies charge $10-$20 per ft on chain link fences.

Ummm we got a privacy fence quote with 2 gates and they quoted $16k so unfortunately yes 😞
Labor is what costs you.

I would call and compare? Maybe find someone that does it in their spare time. My old neighbor hired another neighbor to do it. She spent about $1500 on supplies and tools opposed to paying $3500. We were quoted about he same for our fence.

We did our own. Don't with just one. Have multiple companies
