So my husband started on a weight loss journey under a doctor this Friday. He’s not huge, under 220 lbs. I’m trying to help as much as I can, but honestly I don’t know what foods to cook for him that would be considered “diet”. I don’t want him to get tired of salad and baked chicken breasts. Do any of you ladies have any recipes to share that are considered healthy? I’m also hanging on to my last 10 pounds of baby weight, so it would help me too😆

Do you have anything you're looking to follow? Or just general "healthy" low calorie type stuff?

They said carbs are fine just not too high. No red meats though. And to have a max of 1500 calories a day.

@coralinesmommy, yes definitely! I’ve seen people loose 100 pounds within 18 months and 60lbs in less than 6 months.

Definitely getting rid of as many carbs as you can helps. Keto is great! I think it's important to eat foods you like too, just smaller portions. You can make a great turkey burger or meatloaf, he will get burned out on chicken breasts. I perdonally prefer a smaller size portion of chicken thigh to a chivkene breast because they don't get dry.
But if he wants to get it done and drop the weight, keto is the way to go.

You should try to think of it more as a lifestyle change rather than a diet. I follow the 80/20 rule. 80 percent of the time I’m eating super healthy and then 20% I throw some other stuff in there.
You should cut out sugar, and any white carbs. (White potatoes, white bread, regular pasta, etc) all of those things convert into sugar and it’s not good for you.
You should use whole wheat bread, brown rice pasta, sweet potatoes, and things like that.
I have tons of recipes because I have been eating like this for years. If you want some just send me a message.

You can make a taco salad with seasoned ground turkey, lettuce, tomato, avocado and salsa. I haven’t eaten red meat in 15 years. You can substitute ground turkey for anything with beef. You can do bun-less burgers and just have a patty with cheese and avocado, with a vegetable on the side. Eggs for breakfast, steel cut oats, avocado toast on grain bread. Cut out sugar where you can and limit carbs to once a day.
