They're really nice with their owners or who they bond with but can be very mean to one another. All my babies start attacking each other & trying to insert dominance at about 6 weeks old. π³ I always have to remove the weaker or younger one and seperate it till I find them homes.
I do remember one of them died and the other was very depressed and eventually became mean. They were my parentsβs birds mainly. My dad had and still have many birds but mainly Canaries.
I have always been told that they need to be in a good pair.
One day when my mom was gone , I guess the Cockatoo got out. We also had a ferret & came home to follow a trail of feathers , the Cockatoo an $800 dollar bird was found dead under my dresser. Poor thing.

Thanks. So did my mom when she was alive. She had Cockatoos, love birds & Quakers , among many other animals.
