I have decided to move forward with getting a c-section done so that they can remove my tubes while they are in there. I’ve done so much research on recovery, the ups and downs with it. For the mommies who have had a c-section could you tell me what was most helpful for you during recovery? What kind of “ sweat pants “ did you wear? I’m trying to prepare and have everything that’s needed. Did ya’ll sleep in bed or the couch?
Wishing you a good delivery and healthy/speedy recovery. It's so rough when you have other kids at home but rest whenever you can. My kids have had way too much screen time in the last 4 weeks as I've been recovering from my last one.
@crharmer, thank you! I’m very nervous. As long as you are taking care of yourself and those babies, it’s okay if they have a little extra screen time.
I slept on a power recliner the first couple weeks after getting home and it helped tremendously. For medications I completely recommend Tylenol and Aleve around the clock for the first couple of weeks after as well. You will really feel it if you overdo it too much otherwise. Also, stool softeners are a life saver. Hold a pillow over your stomach if you have to sneeze, cough, or laugh too hard.
Regular yoga pants are just fine. Remember to keep your incision clean and dry (use a hair dryer after a shower on the cool setting) to make sure it's really dry. Also remember to take it easy! It's so easy to overdo it by carrying too much, trying to vacuum, etc. You definitely don't want to take longer than necessary to heal.
I had a good recliner for my last csection because it was hard to get up from a flat bed to sitting up.
I slept on sofa only because my room is upstairs and I wasn’t ready for that.
Hi waist underwear I feel like are a must.
Thank you all! My obgyn said I shouldn’t walk up and down the stairs no more then one time a day, which is kind of tricky because I have a 1 year and a 4 year old lol. I also have a 2 year old husky so I’ve been stressing how I’m going to balance this all!
I’ll have to grab some more yoga pants.
