I’m not sure if my son has Autism or he just doesn’t listen to me .
Sometimes he doesn’t answer when I call his name . But when his dad calls him he response. He’s good at following directions and he takes our hand to show us what he wants but he doesn’t talk . He babbles a bit
@jordandior, I wouldn’t worry too much my oldest started saying words at 2 and really only babbled until 2.5 when he slowly started talking. He was never behind in anything and was potty trained before he was talking. If he’s following directions and shows you what he wants. My youngest who will be 2 in a couple weeks will straight ignore me when he wants to act like he can’t see or hear me I used to be concerned but he wasnt talking or showing you what he wanted or anything now he’s a chatterbox tho literally happened over night about a month ago. I would get his hearing checked though to make sure that’s not it and he’s listening to dad more because he has a deeper voice.
I would have his hearing checked and also evaluated by your local early intervention program. I wouldn't jump to autism it could be a wide variety of things at his age.
I will , we are in early intervention program right now . But it’s extremely hard to do everything over zoom . The speech therapist and occupational therapist doesn’t think it’s autism .
@jordandior I see. I would definitely go by their recommendations. Ask for a referral to an audiologist from them or your pediatrician.
What do you mean by doesn’t listen to you?
