Ok guys i need help lol. I have sugar cookie mix in the cubbard and i want to make christmas cookies with it. It says nothing about refrigerating it or if u can even use it to do cutout cookies. Should i mix it and stick it in the fridge for a while or is there something i should add to it first? I got the premade kind last year and they didnt turn out. The cookies spread real bad. You couldnt even tell what the shapes were suppost to be and i dont want that to happen this year. I dont have the ingrediants in my cubbard to make them homemade or else id just do that. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Im not a baker and i know some of you are fanastic when it comes to baking.

Can I see a picture of the mix? Lol I use a mix usually and I don’t have to refrigerate it but on the back mine does show what to add for cut outs

@catfish2220, it says great for cut outs but doesn’t say if it needs to made differently so I would just make it as it says and you could
Always chill the dough anyways

Definitely chill the dough before you spread and cut it out. Usually the spreading is from using warm dough. Either 4 hours in the fridge or put it in the freezer until it is cold.

Thats what i was thinking but wasnt sure. The stuff i used last year said no chilling required and I had to add stuff but they spread terribly.
