I am 28. A FTM and a Recovery Mommy. I have been in recovery from addiction now for 2.5 years now. Thank God!! I had a miscarriage last February 2015 on my boyfriends birthday. Although traumatic It was blessing in disguise because when I found out I was pregnant January 23rd 2 days before my birthday, I stopped actively using heroin. Unfortunately we did lose the baby but it opened my eyes and I got help. That is how I got clean and am now a mommy to a beautiful baby girl that was due Sept 6 but decided to come 12 days early August 25, 2016. My labor and delivery only took 9 hours but when Sydney came out she wasn't breathing and her lungs were full of fluid. My amnionic fluid was meconium stained and my water had broke getting into the car to go to the hospital several hours before. She had to get pumped several times put on oxygen and a CPAP machine. She was born 5lbs 3oz. I had what was called intrauterine growth restriction and she pretty much stopped growing at 36 weeks. She stayed in the NICU under bilirubin lights and for monitoring for a week. My pregnancy was very high risk and extremely hard to get through. But I am truly blessed and this is a miracle. I am clean and sober, my daughter is a fighter just like her mommy and her daddy has been amazing through it all!! I am so lucky to have found him after a 10year abusive relationship. I am somewhat of a free spirit and I love helping people in need. I am all about living my life, my second chance at life, to the fullest and actually now look forward to life and it's adventures and journeys in this new chapter of my life.
I survived the first year as a new mom!!!
