My LO is 2.8 and still has his bars on his cot bed. I'm thinking xmas time I will take them off he has only tried to climb over once.
But am thinking do I take the sides off, get a single bed, or put a mattress on the floor (Montessori style)?

We just too the sides off. Theo was around 2 and a half, he was fine. Only fell out once and the drop is so small he didn't even wake.

The boys had a cot bed so took the sides off & had it against the wall. It was like an inch from the floor so when they did roll out they never even woke 😂 They were both under 2 when they transitioned & wasn't in it long before we just bought them normal single beds.
