I’m new to the gas stove club and was wondering if anyone could ease my worries 🤪 I’ve heard that if the flames are yellow/orange that it isn’t a good sign but what about a blue flame with small flickering orange flames? Is that normal? Or should I get the stove looked at?

Yeah it’s something with the oxygen I’d just get a carbon monoxide alarm and put it in your kitchen to be safe unless you want someone to come out my stove is the same with the yellow/orange flame on the top mostly blue though I have a carbon monoxide alarm on all three floors of my home to be safe

@mommaofjandm, like if it was mainly yellow or orange instead of mainly blue I would worry but since it’s only a little orange I wouldn’t worry too much but to be safe buy them if you haven’t

You'll be fine. Sometimes mine changes to orange. I've had a gas stove for like 10 years and never had an issue

@mommaofjandm no problem. Enjoy, cooking with gas is a million times better!

I have no idea. Mine are usually blue with little orange on top. Hubs is in charge of all that. I can ask when he wakes up from his nap.

@sourpatchkid, haha well that’s comforting! I’ll check and clean it! We just moved in so today was the first time I tried out the stove. I’ve always been nervous to use gas but I really liked the way it cooks!

@mommaofjandm, yea definitely clean it then and test it out. I 100% prefer gas over electric. It cooks more even and faster. And u can see the flames for heat level.
When my mom had one, the flames were like blue with orange.
