My son is 5 months and since birth he has been struggling with his feeds but since last month it is getting worse. Everytime I spoke to the Midwives they advice to me that I should not be worring and at this age they get cold constipated, colic and it's ok but since Saturday he was not keeping down anything so I bought him to emergency.basically what the doctor's told me is that it's virus. It effects their breathinh an feed.my question is has any mum experienced something like this or similar especially with an eating and drinking because I tried a lot of difference of milks. Any advice please
That will be very helpful
Thank you so much on advance
Sorry my English is bit rubbish don't mind me
@beveridge.s that's so stupid every mum knows her child even though we ain't got degree but we have more knowledge I believe because half them they don't know what they talk about
Aww bless you both. Hope they can give you some answers and reassurance. Keep us updated. X
Whats he like during and after his feeds? It is something to worry about because you don't want him to become dehydrated. Your his mum you know him better than anyone if you feel like something is not right and you keep getting told the same stuff keep going back no matter what until you find the right answer. Not saying doctors aren't right but my sister couldn't drink milk from birth they refused to listen to my mum and in the end it turned out the milk wasn't going to her stomach but to her lungs instead. Luckily my mum kept going back. I'm not saying your little man is the same but what I am saying if u know something isnt right don't take it keep going back. Xx
When I'm feeling him he feels very uncomfortable cries a lot and he will only suck for 30 seconds and start crying that's how he finishes whole milk
And soon he finish he will bring it up also half of the milk goes on his chest because he's spitting out
Ooh bless you hun they tell me that I am overthinking and it's normal but that's not what I am experiencing my son will not drink more than 90ml and that's when I don't feed him for 5 to 6 hours and it comes back again up. I am so frustrated and exhausted
My son had difficulties I took him to AnE one night and they said it was a milk allergy , I was prescribed Neocate and he was a totally different baby after that. Also have you checked if he has a tongue tie? Both my boys had it and it made feeding hard causing lots of troubles they’ve only just got the operation done to release it xx
I kept getting told niamh has a virus and colic and everything. Turns out she was allergic to milk and it affected her skin and her keeping milk down and also her feeding.
