Yes. Because I am their parent. I put my foot down with my parents and my in laws.

My kids don't listen anything i say when my stepgrandmother around. Them she get mad at me when i discipline them.

@piercedmom3, then you need to talk to her. It’s confusing for children to have conflicting parenting styles.

She just don't listen. She likes to be in control of everything. She even tells hee grown son what to do. Her ex husband her ex mother in law and friends.

My in-laws clearly have no rules or schedule, despite what I say. I’m alright with different rules at different houses, but when I’m around, I expect mine to be the ones followed. It took a bit for my oldest to understand this, but he’s doing much better now. I also was a mean mom and told him grandma wouldn’t be allowed over if he didn’t act appropriately.
