This year my son is in a contained behavioral class room virtually. I’m really nervous to see how this will go. Last year he was home based. As long as he logs on for a minute he is considered present even if he doesn’t stay on. Which I think will be the outcome because of his anxiety. We will do things independently like we did last year. This year he was supposed to remain home based and as we felt comfortable he was going to slowly transition back to the school setting. Tomorrow is drive up pick up supplies. I hope I can get him to go. He hasn’t left the house in 2 weeks. 😩😩.

So does that mean that last year someone would come to the house and work with him? Is that what home based means?
This whole zoom/virtual learning is hard on the kids and the parents. It’s going to be even harder for u and him, what with your other little once running around lol. But it will work out I’m sure. I mean I’m not putting that much pressure on me and my boys. We are all just doing the best we can in these circumstances ya know? I def wouldn’t push him to stay logged on longer then he wants to cause I’d be afraid his anxiety would just get worse. I know u know your child and you’re all going to do what’s best for him and what he can handle. Good luck love!!

Yes, well sometimes lol. He was supposed to have a teacher 6 hours out of the week but majority of the time that didn’t happen or he would come for a few but leave early. My son did better with just me teaching him and we were able to complete the work that way. I was explaining to him last night about virtual learning and how everything will work and he was so nervous just from me explaining it. How’s everything going for you guys? Are they both doing virtual?

@dontblockmesis-imjustspeakingfacts, Aw that sucks he already so nervous about it!! It’s really terrible for these kids to not have the school experience but hopefully it’s only temporary! We are moving along I suppose lol. I mean the kindergartener isn’t doing much this week cause the teachers are doing in person assessments. So they have a 30min zoom in the am then specials, gym, art, library and music in the afternoon just to get to know the teachers. My 2nd grader is on from 9-11 then break from 11-12 for lunch/recess then back on from 12-2 then specials at 2:30. So it’s a full day for him which has been going well this week.
