Does anyone have experience with death anniversaries? I want to do something special for my mom this month but not sure what to do. Any advice is very much appreciated.

My friend's family bakes a vanilla cake and spreads peanut butter icing on it and sprinkles birdseed over it. They put it outside because her dad loved animals and watch the birds eat it. I always liked writing a letter and burning it so the smoke takes the message to Heaven.
