I would first get a hips, joints etc tests done :)
Do you know parents background?
Are they KC registered?
A lot of people want a dog that’s KC registered/ (parents are from a good lineage)
How old is your dog?
Genevieve ··
Yes we know lots about both our dog and the stud. Our dog is almost 2. Both dogs are KC registered and come from very good lineage. Both have had relevant tests and results are all good. All puppies would be KC registered too. Our dogs got a lovely temperament so has the stud.

Sounds good then hun :)
But as others have said please consider would you have the money/means to pay out for if one or more of the puppies ended up ill?
If mum needed a csection if pups got stuck etc
Possibility of losing a pup or more?
Possibility of losing them all and mum?
Possibility of losing mum and having to look after all the pups on your own ( this means round the clock feeding and toileting (puppies can’t go to the bathroom on their own for the first few weeks so you would have to stimulate them as the mum would do)
Puppies can’t be insured until 8 weeks of age so yeah any vets fees for them you’d need to pay ( this can be a lot without insurance)
What is the reason of wanting to breed your dog?
Now proving everything goes well with the breeding
Have you got some families lined up for them already?
You would need to do a background check on all possible homes to ensure they are going to the right people etc xx

I wouldn't breed mine however my mums gona breed her xl bully on the next season. Me personally I love my dog to much for something to go wrong for the sake of a bit of money. My aunt who has tried n tried to have children ivf after ivf still nothing she paid a stud for her dog and her dog passed away during labour she was left with 3 pups to look after on the hour after that I was traumatised so I said I wouldn't breed mine plus my dog has bad back legs. But that's what you have to be prepared for things to go wrong. Not all pups make it and that's also another I couldn't deal with but other than that you would be absolutely fine and so will your bitch be too. I've heard your ment to let her eat 2 of her placenta but no more other than that youll find out on your journey. Wishing you the best of luck and look forward to seeing all these cute pups. Sorry to sound so negative I really do wish you all the best 🤗🤞 xx

these a lot more to it than just that even after pups have gone there still your responsibility and you also have to see what your dogs tempament is too cos I've known a few to go funny with their owners afterwards which is only normal mother nature to kick in. All honesty I never had the balls to do it 😂

My dad bred his Rottweiler years ago, she had 15! Only 9 survived.. They said never again.
Depending on price you want for pups as @beebeejgill said, is your dog KC registered, if not you won't get as much.

My partners mum bred her staffy bitch a few years back. Had a vet check before hand and she was good to go nothing wrong with her. She was also a really chilled out dog and good natured. She gave birth to around 7 pups, all survived but the mum died afew days later because the birth was too much for her body. She lost her appetite, was sick and had the runs so she had to be put down. My mum has one of the pups and she is just like her mum. Soft as a brush, loves everyone and good with my kids. My partners mum kept one of the pups who turned out like the dad and he was a little shit. He would pee and poo in the house, he would bark at everything, was full of beans and wouldn't behave lol. He was put down last year after nearly biting someone 😬 xx
