Raising children who love themselves.

When lo was little-er, lol, and before he started his gibberish, (now he talks, but it's still a lot of gibberish πŸ˜‚). I use to tell him every night before bed, (while holding him on my tummy/chest so he's face to face with me, legs on either side of me,) standing in front of the mirror and poking his chest with my finger; you're important, you're loved, you're kind, you're smart, you're handsome, you can do anything! Then I'd bounce him up and down while holding him and say "Black Boy Joy!!" He thought it was the best thing ever!
I fell off doing it, slacked, but I'd still do it from time to time.

Today I picked him up and was going through it and I finished, got to the end, putting him back down and he said "Black Boy Joy!!" It was the cutest! I forgot but he didn't! I hope he grows up to believe these words, and have all the joys the world will give him. I hope he learns to love himself through his failures, through hardships, through anything the world throws at him. I hope he grows up believing he's worthy, and oh so regal πŸ₯° One of my goals in life, is to raise children who love themselves, even when everyone tells them not to. Wish me luck guys!
