I let my son decide when he was done breastfeeding. During the day if he asked alot we would go outside or play try to distract so more time goes between boob.

I started weaning with almond milk in a bottle and only bedtime boob. It took about a month and next thing you know he was falling asleep without it and I was all done.

What was the question? Most of these responses are ignorant.

The WHO recommends you breastfeed for 2 years. I have for both of mine and still breastfeeding my youngest.

I stopped breastfeeding my daughter at age 2 because I wanted to start going to work but it was the best thing I ever did to wait until she was old enough to understand it was time to leave the boob. She only left with my mother for 3 days. She would ask for it and I wanted too give her milk but I knew it was time to tell her no more.

When your ready to take your baby off the boob it’s up to you. No one can tell you he/she is to big for boob. It’s your boobs and only you get to pick when it’s time. My daughter didn’t like whole milk at first but she started to like it. Now she drinking some but not as much. She don’t ask for milk unless it’s bed time or if she really really wants some

Personally I plan on breastfeeding my daughter as long as I can with all this stuff going on.

People are so ignorant. Forcing your 12 month old to quit nursing cold turkey should be considered child abuse. I could never do that to my babies 😭 I let my daughter self wean and she weaned at 2.5 years. No it wasn’t weird at all. She didn’t nurse in public, only at home so no one even knew. My son is still nursing now and has no intention to stop. Again, not in public. Only in the morning when he gets up and right before bed.

He might quit on his own when your milk starts to change during pregnancy. But really no tips from me since my breastfeeding journey was a struggle from the start and ended pretty early. Good luck!
