I would put cookie cooling racks or something there so it isn't comfortable. One day that stove will be hot when kitty jumps up and ouch! :(

Sometimes putting aluminum foil on counters will keep them from jumping up there because they don't like the sound it makes. Not guaranteed to work but you can try

What happens when they jump on the counter and start licking out of your food pots

I'd have a vinegar spray bottle at hand. After a time or two of being spritzed he will learn to stay down.

I'd move the cat, I'm guessing getting rid of the cat is not an option 😅 I'd put plants they don't like up there too

And this is why I don’t have a cat 😂 they get on everything and I find that highly disgusting lol.
