How would you feel if your friend took her children to a water park that’s getting fined daily for staying open despite a state mandated order to close?
Don’t get me wrong, I get that these kids need to have fun, but is that fun really worth the risk? Especially when you’re around the immunocompromised at least once a week...how would you feel about seeing that person in the next week?

I wouldn't be seeing her....that's really irresponsible. I get these notices daily about what signs to look for in children to rush them to the ER. Covid is effecting children.

That’s pretty much how I’m feeling right now. I’m mad and she knows it too. I was a nurse at one point in my life, and my immune system is a weaker one so I only do the bare minimum right now. I even felt bad after I tore up those chicken fried lobster bites outdoor dining for the first time. While I’m guilty of slipping up with myself wanting an hour of normalcy, it was wrong. I scolded myself not to do it again and never with my child. I just can’t...

My sister went to ga to pick up her son i wont let her anywhere near us now....not that she xame around often anyways 😆

I try not to get upset with people who don't make the decisions as me, operative word: try. I would not be seeing said friend next week though

Me too, but this is a time where social responsibility is key. We are under an administration that obviously doesn’t care the way they need to so it’s our social responsibility to make good decisions when it comes to this. She made a shitty decision point blank and I called her on it and she’s mad, but I’m even angrier because this virus has affected my family BAD and I think she was socially irresponsible and is now becoming part of why we can’t contain this virus.

I absolutely wouldn’t be seeing that friend until the virus was no longer a threat...bc she seems to not think it’s a real threat & that’s alarming. I’m glad you told her how you’re feeling about her decision...as much as it is her choice to make about herself & kids....it irresponsible. You have every right to be upset. This virus has really taken its toll on you & your family specifically & I feel like a friend should take that into account if they want to be around you.

I would be pissed. I would expect my "friend" to always ask my permission if they plan to take my child anywhere at all. If they asked to go to a Waterpark, that would be a hard no. If I found out they took them anyway, I would get my child immediately and that would be the end of any playdates with that friend.

Yikes so the water park stays open even though they’re fined? That’s crazy! Now is definitely not the time for theme parks! You should definitely avoid that family for a few weeks.
