Day 1 of incubation! Of 6 chicken eggs 🐔 lol we just grabbed a few eggs that looked fertilized and popped them in. We are going to pay attention to fresher eggs and grab them after a few days-1 week after the girls lay them. But wish me luck!!! 🤞🤞🤞Any tips or tricks???

We finally did it after 10 months!!!!
Well after we lost our angel babies on Father’s Day and then our D&C July 6th it appears we have our rainbow 🌈 We got a positive OPK on July 24th 10 DPO today!
Family friendly guard dogs? Which are the best? We were planning on getting a new dog but after reading that Peeping Tom post a few days ago, I now know it needs to be a good guard dog/protector of my babies!!

My cousin has chickens and turkeys. I think they are fairly easy to raise. You just have to keep them incubated and then when they hatch have fun. She raises hers for meat, are you raising yours for the same

We raise some for meat, some for eggs. And a couple are pets

You can use your light on your phone to see if theres any veins inside the egg

I never used a incubator because my hens would sit on the eggs but i would check on them with my flash light

@grannyruiz @teresab we have a bunch of chickens. Most of them lay on their eggs. But in our other coop, they either try to break each other's, or they don't lay on them. When we bring the eggs to the other chickens, they will lay on them, but it's a bit chaotic. So now we are going to try incubation to help and remove the rooster from the other coop for a while and just collect and eat the eggs and incubate only a few at a time
