Soooooo jeb has been i guess clingy. For the last 3-4 days he has always tried to crawl to me or crawl out his room to me. Or he is in his walker and rolls over to me.

He is now in his room crying at the door because he cant get out to get to me.

He will be 1yr in a few weeks. Is this a leap thing or what???

Sounds like normal child behavior to me.... i wouldn’t be able to stand my baby crying because they aren’t with me I would have to get them and soak up those cuddles

Ive been holding him but im doing a training virtually for a job and we are getting logged into the system so i put him in his room so he wouldnt interupt me hearing the instructor when they come to me with my login info

I think its probably being away from you. If its not naptime, he probably doesn't want to be in his room or alone. Maybe have a family member come over and play with him if you aren't able to do this during his nap or when he is asleep.

Yah agree thanks i think it was due for his naptime he wakes up between 6-8am and it was around 1115 when he fell asleep on me

Maybe he is teething or not feeling well.

Or having some separation anxiety.

Is there a reason he isn’t out of his room?

I still don’t think an 11 month old should be unattended in a room by himself. Could you have put him in a walker or jumper while you did your virtual meet. Didn’t hearing him cry while doing that interrupt you anyways?

@michellemybell09 yes ive had him in his walker he sits on his floor in his room with toys nothing dangerous around and his tv is on he usually plays by himself but ever since he startes to master crawling i let him wander around the apartment and he usually crawls out to come find me

What’s a leap thing? He probably just ..... wants to love on you. Teething. Mommas boy. Hungry. Be free to be able to roam.

Why would he be in his room with the door cracked alone?

Just let him out, give him some love. It could be a number of things. It will pass.

Maybe use headphones to hear the instructor? My kids are always attached to my hip. It can be overwhelming and the timing can be off but it’s mom life shit.

I was gonna say lay him down for a nap while your doing your job stuff. I’m in college and run a business and I don’t ever put my baby in a room by him self even with a walker. But he might just want you or theething they tend to be more needy when there theething!

This is so sad that he is so desperate to get to you but can’t. I do understand how tiring and stressful it can be at times but try and think of it from his perspective. He may be really panicked not knowing where you are, how to get to you or if you will come back. He could also be in some kind of discomfort with teething or anything and just need you with him.

I have looked after my two with my husband working away since our daughter was born so I do understand how tiring it can be at times but I always tell myself it’s just a phase. There is always an end to it and when you try and put yourself in their shoes it helps. Also, there will always be a nap or a bed time at some point so you just have to get through and do your best until that time 🤞🏼

I would say try more sleep. My 4 year old sleeps from 6.30pm-7.30am every night and if he doesn’t he gets really emotional in the day time due to being over tired. Children need so much more sleep than adults... I’m dreading the day that my son goes to bed at a later time !

lol he sleeps through the night though and he's been fine i dont see how i could force him to stay asleep for longer. He sleeps when he's tired and wakes up when his body is ready

A lot of these people don't understand your situation so maybe are taking things the wrong way , but I'd definitely invest in some kind of baby gate so he can't smash his hand in door but also so you can keep a closer eye on him if room is baby proof he should be completely fine being alone for a few minutes , Mama's do have to get things done whether it's doing a load of laundry ,quick load of dishes ,or making a quick call , I was gonna also say maybe a monitor with camera for when he is in the room those things come in handy
