I wish they could add photos of these badly injured children so people can really see it's not just words and injuries but life threatening, and in many cases life stealing destruction that these poor babies go through. This is so sad. Thank you for sharing...

I understand that the thought of “it wouldn’t happen to me“ is easy to think. I never thought I’d have a house fire and here I lost my home twice to two separate fires. I’m actually thankful - now - that that happened to me because I can truly say I never think “it won’t happen to me” now. I know that even the craziest things can totally happen.
It’s definitely sad. These kids expect us to care for them.

I totally understand that thought process as well. We need to educate ourselves on car seat safety because it’s our job to care for our children’s safety!

Goddamn I really get her frustration about this!! I can hear it in her voice. I wholeheartedly agree with this and it makes me sad when u tell a parent about the improper placement of seats/belts etc and they get mad at u. Ugh nothing grinds my gears worse then that

I helped my dad on a car accident back in 2008. Mini van rolled 3 times and it sheared part of the van roof off. The momma lost her youngest baby that day. She had a 9 year old, 4 year old, and 8 month old. The 9 year and 4 yo were in the 3rd row. 9yo had internal injuries and wasn't in any carseat or booster. 4 yo was in just a regular booster seat and had internal injuries and fractured neck vertebrae. And the baby was in a regular forward facing upright 5 point type harness seat, in the captain type seat of the van (this was in 2008). Baby got decapitated. I can still hear that mommas screams to this day as she cradled her baby. It was a scene my dad stopped at after we were coming home from grocery shopping. My dad was a cop and firefighter so he stopped to help. I was 15. I just remember trying to keep the little girls calm and listening to my dad to try and help. It was in our small town fire district. Just before my dad was voted in.
To this day I correct everyone i see or point it out. My dad gets mad with my mom bc she didnt follow carseat safety guidelines with my nephew and he would correct her and she just did it anyway. I always installed my daughters seat when anyone took her anywhere.
