I wanted to do one of these before our breastfeeding journey ended. I have a feeling it’s soon 😔 since her dr has us giving her formula to give her more calories, I’m finding it difficult to give her breastmilk as well. She gets full off of me alone so she doesn’t want the formula if I breastfeed her first. And if I give her formula first, she doesn’t want the breastmilk. I’ve been alternating feedings but that’s just caused my supply to drop. She’s getting chunky, though. That’s all I care about, really.

I was told to give my 5 month old formula and she’s doing just great with breast milk. Not every pediatrician is up to date with breast feeding. Some babies will be skinnier than other and longer and some chunky and short.

Keep going mama nurse nurse nurse all the time! Drink your water and don’t offer formula unless totally necessary!

What was her birth weight and what’s her weight now? If she’s getting full from breastmilk then maybe you don’t need the formula. I did exclusive breastmilk with both my babies, they are thin and were never fat chunky babies. None of our doctors ever told me to give them formula.

She was 7.9 at birth and 8.6 at 2 weeks old. and stayed that way until she started formula at exactly 2 months (she also did not grow at all in length during that time). She’s now 9.15 and has been on formula for 9 days.
The dr discovered a heart murmur as well and she said that could possibly be the reason she didn’t gain anything so we do have a cardiologist appointment we’re waiting on. But she wanted to rule out the other possibilities, one being my milk.

wow yeah that’s very small for a 2 month old. I hope you can figure out a good routine. Sorry I don’t have advice on the formula.

Yeah, I had no idea bc she’s very content on breastmilk alone so I was so shocked she was still 8 pounds at 2 months!

Just stop the bottle all together she’s probably getting confused that’s what happened to me and after that I did it five years I never used anything else
