I have been running a mile or two before finding out I am pregnant, any mommas still go running?!
I was trying to lose weight 🤦🏼♀️
I ran through to five days before my first was born. She was three weeks post term. Do what you have been doing but listen to your body. Don't over do it but don't stop if you still feel good working out. Make sure you are hydrating well. Keep in mind that an OB will be more conservative about supporting working out than a midwife but all will recommend walking and other light exercise. It's good for you and baby. Working out during pregnancy isn't usually a concern unless you are high risk. Best of wishes and congratulations!!!
Thank you! I knew that regular workout options was okay but I feel like running is harder on the body. Just wanted everyone’s opinion!
@cheemomma I was able to keep running with my first. Couldn't run with my second. Once your body starts getting uncomfortable (beyond a normal work out discomfort) slow down. I would make sure to wear supportive clothing once you get your bump. It can help reduce potential ligament pulls. Make sure to wear good running shoes and if anything feels off slow down/stop. You've got this! Of you follow this advice(as it was given to me) you will know if the time comes to change things. 🙂
@xryztalroze, I appreciate the advice! I’m not a big girl just a little thick lol. My first pregnancy I gained a total of 10 pounds. After my pregnancy I went back down but hit ppd and gained about 30 pounds from it. 😔 I’m officially down 10 of that.
Definitely just listen to your body Mama. I was told that anything my body was doing prior to pregnancy, I would be fine to continue through pregnancy. Sometimes it gets a little harder though but don't get down on yourself or give up girl! Keep doin whatever little bit you can, as long as you're not hurting. Moving and stayin active is great while pregnant BUT you FOR SURE don't need to be pushing it TOO crazy. ANY little bit helps girl so if all you have time/energy for is a walk around the block, then do it and DON'T feel bad that's "all" you did. It's better than nothin!
