i appreciate the tag and it’s very sad and tragic wouldn’t wish this on anyone the car seat post of my son is in a parked car yes car accidents can happen anywhere but y’all came at me as if i was driving around with my son like that and that’s not nor will it ever be the case
I remember this post like it was yesterday. It is an important read for anyone. I literally check my daughter's entire booster seat and straps each and every time she gets in to make sure nothing got loose or is out of place. A parent's worst nightmare.
I’m glad to hear some good came out of his story. I will share it every time I see anyone question car seat safety. I pray his short journey here can help save others.

It will be two years this Christmas. My 4yo looks so much like him it’s crazy we really miss him.

Wow so the 6 year old wasn’t in a car seat at all? 😳 I don’t understand what people are thinking. My daughter is 5.5 and only weighs 37 lbs. She’s in a high back booster with 5 pt harness. I plan to keep her that way for a while. My son is still rear facing. They can cry and complain all they want, I don’t care, they are getting buckled no matter what.
This is a heart wrenching read. I’m so incredibly sad for your family’s loss.
I take car seat safety seriously but idk how to ensure my 3 year old is safe. He uses his foot to press the button that loosens his straps and he loosens them almost all the way. I pull over and fix it and then 2 minutes later he’s done it again. I have tried to tell him not to but he’s not getting it at all. He just says his straps are owwwie
Thank you for sharing this again and I am so sorry your family went through this. My brother and his wife are so ignorant when it comes to car seat safety. They haven’t put their 6 year old in any type of seat since he was probably 4. They now have a 1 year old who is already forward facing and they don’t steal her in right. I’m constantly telling them they need to turn her around and strap her in properly but they will not listen. I pray they never have to go through what your family did. It’s such a simple task to correctly buckle your child but they cannot be bothered.

I get looks ALL the time for rear facing my 2.5 yr old. You can never be too safe with your most precious loved ones!! Rear facing chest clip up and tight! Every single time and triple checked.
Omg I’m so sorry for your loss, any news regarding children breaks my heart. Thank you for sharing this and we all need to keep our kids safe especially in the car you never know whose behind the wheel.
