It’s a none stress test. I got them because I was high risk due to my blood pressure. They hook you up to the monitors and they want to see the baby’s activity and heart accelerations.

NST are performed mostly on pregnant women who are high risk for many reasons.

They can also be done when you're "over due" to ensure you can make it safely to your induction date.

I have gestational diabetes and baby has extra fluid so it had to be done

They only hook you up to a monitor that checks movement heart rate and contractions

I got it and I wasn't even high risk . My ob at the time when I was pregnant said its a requirement while being pregnant

I get them everytime just monitoring babys movement and things. My ob gives them to everyone i believe.
