First day back at daycare on Friday. Can't wait to be a horrible mom and traumatize my child.
Daycare is great to teach independence and social skills to a child. As long as you and his teacher's ensure that drop off is always a positive experience for him, no matter how upset he gets, eventually he will associate going there with being happy and get over being upset. It will take time but patience is key. When my guy gets upset, I always just give him to one of his teachers to hold until I leave. I don't make a big fuss and just go. Pretty much everytime he's forgotten about me after 5 minutes and moved on to something else.
As I said, keep it as positive as you can, be patient with him and his anxiety will go
Kids are resilient. He will be okay. He can’t be under you every min of his life. It’s easier to start them younger. It’s life. Day care will eventually turn into school so it’s bound to happen.
My son cried when I left him for a few min and then he was fine and had a blast with the other kids, now he is completely fine. My daughter does the same thing right now but is completely fine after a couple min of me leaving.
You will be surprised how fast he will get over himself after you leave. Only one it will be hard on is you.
Plus its good for him to learn social skills
