Sorry I just realized my above comment could come across as insensitive but I totally didn’t mean it that way. I just read that a lot of the ppl in the community said it was exercise equipment

It is possible. We had ropes that looked like nooses hanging from the oak tree out back for that very reason. There's a bunch of exercises we can do using them and they only came down bc the anchor came undone. I really hope that's all they were there for!!! Out door work outs are the best and simple diy equipment works so well when you can't go to a gym or afford a home gym.

Let me explain a little more history about that area so you understand this was a bitch slap and that wasn’t no damn exercise equipment...
Until about 2008, the Lake Merritt Area of Oakland was primarily Black. The rents slowly started to double and the hipsters with six figure jobs moved in. Ever since then, there’s been minor attacks on blacks but this and BBQ Becky are the two big ones that pop out for me. BBQ Becky called the cops on people having a BBQ, something our families did there on a very regular basis. Suddenly there were laws that have been on the books forever and not enforced until she called. I know that part for a fact because my MIL works for the OPD in the AUDITING department doing the audits and telling the cops how wrong they are so I get the truth from the source.
No one I know who still lives out there is buying that the ropes are outdoor equipment, not right now. They popped up way too suddenly AND they actually made a effigy of a person. All of that was racially motivated. It’s sad.
